Canon Canonet Junior (not RF) #296737

Sold from April 1963. A smaller version of the Canonet, designed to be smaller and easier to operate. The shutter speed and aperture were set automatically, making it easy to use by anybody.

It has a zone focusing system which divided subject distances into close, medium, and far with symbols.

Exposure was automatic, set by the Electric Eye.

The film advance used a sprocketless spool.

Has a Canon SE40mm f/2.8 lens (4 elements in 3 groups)

The Shutter is a 35mm Seiko-sha L with program. 1/30 to 1/250 sec. and B. X-sync flash.
German flash socket on camera front.
The Viewfinder is Reversed Galilean with projected frames @0.55x magnification. Shutter speed scale and match needle window (coupled to external window and flash mark) at viewfinder bottom. Right of viewfinder has three zone focusing marks and moving needle coupled to lens draw.
Selenium photocell coupled to program. Metering range of EV 7 - 17, f/2.8 & 1/30 sec. to f/22 & 1/250 sec. (at ISO 100).
Film speed range of ISO 10 - 200.
Film Loading & Advance After opening camera back, insertion onto spool. Advances with camera-top lever (210° single stroke).
Frame Counter: Counts up. Resets automatically when camera back is opened.
Film Rewind: Camera-top crank.

The original leatherette was damaged so I replaced it in red. The only issue left on this one is that the front viewfinder glass is cracked, it doesn't affect the view as such.
